Well, we finally hit another milking milestone, 900 pounds of milk! We are up to milking 10 cows now and today (less than an hour ago) sent 918 pounds of milk to Jilbert Dairy! I have been waiting a long time to hit this mark. To put this into perspective 918 pounds of milk is equivilent to 107 gallons.
Since we began milking on November 20, 2008 we have produced 41,477 pounds of milk, which translates to — “we have provided consumers with 4822 gallons of milk!
Next goal ….. to ship 1000 pounds of milk!
Onto knitting ………
I have been playing with the sock machine some more ….. still have not got the ribber down but working on it. In the mean time I have knit the daughter two pair of socks……

Way to go on the socks and WOW on the milk. For a girl raised in the city who never saw her first cow until she was almost 17, that is so amazing to me. I am a wanna be farmer at heart and hopefully someday when this Army life is over we hope to have a nice little farm somewhere.
I’m also amazed at all that milk and milking and just the wrangling you do. I use to dream of being a farmer … but not any more. Too old!
